Thinking of inclusion in branding

Ergogenics, a Canadian sports nutrition brand was founded by Ricky Mehta in Vancouver, BC . Ricky, who has a formal education in the field of nutrition and is an avid snowboarder and hiker – started the company with the goal of making a positive change in the sports supplement world towards clean, organic and highly nutritious plant based products.

In 2021, Ergogenics changed their packaging to showcase diversity and inclusiveness with the introduction of illustrations found on their packaging, displaying action sport athletes from different backgrounds and genders. As a person of colour this was Important for Ricky to display and highlight. 

Ergogenics has also moved from plastic bottles to gusset bags to reduce waste for the environment, with the goal of one day being able to offer compostable packaging to make a bigger impact.
